Product Launches Are Dead

November 11, 2008 by Big Jason

Or so some people say and continue to say to this day. Interesting thing about people who say:

Product Launches Are Dead

They announce this with a product launch for crying out loud.

Jeff Walker has released a new video about the so-called Death of Product Launches.

The Dealth of Product Launches

Watch the video and let me know what you think in the comments below. Are product launches dead?

No and I don’t think they ever will be.

However the way they are launched will evolve.

Also, I think how affiliates/jv partners will support launches in the future is going to change.

For example, I’ve been promoting some huge launches lately that fell over when the server crashed. I’ve decided to stop mailing at the time that the marketer predicts his site will be live, as it’s been 0/3 on the last 3 launches and those emails are wasted.

I’ve seen many big guru list marketers mail at the time of the “go live” time and when you check the site it’s saying “sorry we’re delayed”.

I think marketers who do these big launches with 100’s of partners mailing all at once are leaving money on the table. Hard to know, as the controversy can also stir up sales :)

They could just mail to their house list first and then scale up for the partners, and at least use better server technology like a cloud hosting system.

It is ironic, but I signed up just to see what was up. I guess it did it’s job. Product launches are responsible for a lot of sales. There is no way they are dead. Pretty good video. Good to know that product launches work well for a lot of products not just internet marketing ones.

No they are not dead at all. I do think some of the more traditional launches are dead but creative ways to get your product out there is a great way to build hype and get purchases right out of the starting block.

I think most of the creativity has gone now, most launches are samey nowdays, technology sometimes makes a product launch fun, remember bill gates and his windows 98 launch, never a better time for a blue screen me thinks.

I’m a big fan of Product Launch Formula. I just wish they got into list building more!
