MarketingSherpa Email Summit 2009 Discount
I have attended all three MarketingSherpa Email Summits, the world’s biggest and baddest email marketing conference bar none. Will I be attending their fourth summit this March in Miami? Do bunnies like to mount? With no pitching products allowed from speakers and a $400 discount, I would be a big idiot not to attend.
Here I am in Chicago 2006 with Stefan Tornquist, head of research at MarketingSherpa.
This is Scott Cundill from Majestic Interactive in South Africa at the Summit in Miami 2007.
This is Jenni Edwards of Compendium BlogWare at the Summit in Miami 2008.
The Email Summit is going to cover some killer email marketing topics like the following:
* Using artificial intelligence to optimize

Email Marketing In 2009 Will Be A Slam Dunk For Little Marketers… IF You Follow These Essential Rules!"
Dear Little Marketers,
I’ll admit, I thought I was pretty good at email marketing.
After all, I used to chuckle when people said they make
$1 per person on their email list per month.
Because I was making a hell of a lot more than that… up
to 10 times more!
Then I ran into BIG Jason Henderson… and I realized I
needed to make some serious improvements.
Big Jason (former professional basketball player, Next
Internet Millionaire contestant, and 6′ 11” bunny
fanatic) took one look at my email marketing, and
showed me no less than half a dozen areas for
squeezing out better deliverability and more profits:
- How to increase teleseminar and webinar registrations
with one small change - How to
Why Aweber Sucks
You might think that the reason or reasons why Aweber sucks is because of the following:
- Email Deliverability Issues
- Forcing You to Be Either Double Optin or Single Optin But Not Both Like A Real Email Service Provider or Autoresponder Service Who Cater to Real Businesses That Use Permission Based Sending Practices and Have Legitimate Reasons for Having Some Lists Double Optin and Others Single Optin.
- Not Sending Your Newsletters Out on Time As Reported Constantly by Marketers
- Inability to Follow Up with Users Who Have Not Confirmed Their Optin Which is A Brilliant Marketing Strategry that Works and Many Permission Based Senders Use
The real reason Aweber sucks is because it only allows you to queue your autoresponder messages by how many days in the future but NOT by which day.
Think about it. Aweber sends the messages a day later, three days later

InfusionSoft commonly known as Infusion and used by Dan Kennedy among other top marketers has a specific issue regarding people opening your emails or even getting them delivered in the first place for that matter.
Email deliverability and open rates are extremely important factors in your business. Here is a quick video with a fix.
I’ll probably be doing some more videos on infusion since so many people use them and there are a few more issues too. Be sure to subscribe to my feed below.

Aweber Custom Form Tutorial with Optin Rate Tracking
I have seen quite a few people in forums struggle with using custom forms with Aweber, a lower end email service provider or autoresponder service.
They would like to use custom submit buttons and different styles, but they want to track the optin rate with the javascript code provided by Aweber. Unfortunately using this optin rate tracking code prevents you from customizing your subscription form quite a bit.
Here is a video tutorial on how you can customize your optin form as much as you want and still track how many people see your form versus how many of them hit that submit button.
It basically comes down to this. You need to use both but hide the javascript optin tracking code from being seen otherwise visitors will see two optin forms.
Just hide the tracking code like so:

MarketingSherpa's Email Summit in Miami March 2007
My second year at MarketingSherpa’s Email Summit was extremely profitable once again. Last year was in Chicago while this year was in Miami. Here is a picture of Anne Holland, president of MarketingSherpa, and myself after several takes. Anne is famous for closing her eyes during pictures, so this was the best one. Anne claims I almost gave her whiplash when I appeared before her on the last day in my Joel Bauer suit after wearing just shorts and a t-shirt the previous day. It wasn’t entirely my fault. The conference hotel didn’t have dry cleaning if you can believe that, and I had just come from another conference in Dallas.
I last saw Anne at the 2006 Miva Conference in San Diego

The Email Marketing Summit by MarketingSherpa was phenomenal. EmailLabs, AOL, Goodmail, Sun Microsystems, and many more were there providing phenomenal information and insights on how to do email marketing effectively. Here are pictures with me and Anne Holland, the publisher of Marketing Sherpa and Stefan Tornquist, research director at Marketing Sherpa.
Whether you only do business online or do offline marketing as well, definitely attend the next Email Marketing Summit. I also had a great time with Mitch of Windy City Parrot, Sue and Dave of Candle-licious, and Ralph of The Sign Post at Jameson’s Charhouse in Chicago If you would like to go
